  • KETL
Application: Knowledge Engineering Toolkit & Language
The Knowledge Engineering Toolkit & Language (KETL) is a representation language and inference engine being developed to support a broad range of knowledge-management tasks. The logic-based representation language provides expressive power similar to CycL, with 2nd-order syntax and 1st-order semantics. Assertions are fully represented objects. Contexts are supported for assertions (similar to Microtheories in CycL). The inference engine is relatively primitive but provides basic inference capabilities and is being extended. It currently supports transitive binary predicates (e.g., subClass), extension predicates (e.g., isa), inheritance, with emerging support for rules and prototypes, truth maintenance, and explanations.

  • KnowledgeTools International
Application: LOGOS - Management Instruments for Complex Cases
LOGOS creates transparency, helps to control risks, reduces legal fees and ensures quality. On the server side, the system is based on Allegro Common Lisp communicating with a MySQL database. The communication between client and server is done via HTTP. You can use LOGOS as an online service with secure transmission channels or install the server software locally on your network. In all cases, all of the users will be granted easy and remote access to the application and data. It enables individual persons or arbitrarily large teams to access a central knowledge base and to save expensive material procurement.

  • KPN Research
    Application: Portable Webpage Recommender System
KPN Research used Lisp and Allegro CL to create a bookmark-based browser interface that could be tailored to provide recommendations of interesting web sites based on the their customers' interests and surfing patterns, yet was as easy to use as a television remote. The base technology for this product, a Recommender System, monitors user behaviour and generate recommendations of web pages for each user. This process consists of the following distinct parts: user profiling, content profiling and matching.

  • Knowledge Technologies International (KTI, formerly Concentra)
    Application: ICAD
ICAD is an object-oriented engineering software solution for the aerospace, automotive, industrial equipment, and construction industries. KTI's customers are able to close the design technology gap by automating the concept phase of a new design project, where 80% of the project cost gets committed. By capturing the knowledge of project engineers in a Dynamic Objects modeling language, ICAD enables engineers to truly automate all repetitive tasks, build applications that capture best practices, and institutionalize routine operations to create a 'virtual product model' that can be reused for future projects.

  • Linköping University
    Application: LEORDO Computation Platform
Leordo is the Distribution Version of the full Leonardo system. The Leonardo computation system is intended as a platform for applications that make use of a knowledgebase. Possible applications include:

    • Personal assistant systems that help their users to keep track of a miscellany of things of various kinds and to operate on this information
    • Knowledge-based autonomous agents
    • Semantic web systems
    • Tutorial systems for use in university courses in these areas

  • Mathematical Systems Inc.
Application: Honda Car Test Database System
Mathematical Systems Inc.'s application gives Honda an innovative system that uses many elements to help Honda design safer cars.

  • Mosaix, Inc.
    Application: Agent Effectiveness Applications (AEA)
Mosaix is a preferred provider of world-class call management systems and customer relationship management applications that enable enterprises to profitably acquire, retain, and develop customer relationships.

  • Performigence Corp.
    Application: ProcessGenius process management system.
ProcessGenius software is used by customers to capture, communicate and manage their process knowledge. ProcessGenius reduces training costs, provides faster execution of procedures, decreases the number of mistakes by workers, and monitors compliance to best practices and quality standards. ProcessGenius empowers customers to create and deploy intelligent interactive applications on their operations. To help you visualize how customers use ProcessGenius, first imagine an organization with software applications used to document its processes, capture and communicate improvements, train people on operations, and help users solve problems, perform tasks and make decisions on the job.

  • Planisware
    Application: Planisware 5
Planisware uses Lisp and Allegro CL to create Planisware 5, the leading Enterprise level Project Management and Support System. Planisware 5 provides necessary information and simulation tools for decision making, strategic planning and project prioritization; and includes both an enterprise project control system and portfolio management capabilities for corporate governance.

  • Signal Insurance
    Application: SIGNAL System
The Signal information system provides information to the customer representatives (on assets, policy offers, deadlines, etc.) and also computes premiums, drafts offers, and performs other knowledge-based tasks. Because each sales situation must be treated individually, the cost of sales can be sharply reduced with a knowledge-based information system that can help sales representatives gather personal information about the customer, and compute benefit analyses based on this and other data. Running the system on laptop computers enables the representatives to take their expert system on the road.
