Knowledge Engineers build knowledge-based systems, databases, data-mining, expert systems, and decision support systems. 2Is Inc.
builds these logistics solutions for internal use in its procurement and engineering services contracts for the Department of Defense. These logistic applications rely heavily on logic, algorithms and insight on how supply chain engineers service the largest supply chain in the world.
Our applications are written in Object-Orientated Lisp atop a cutting edge Object database. We interface using industry standards like XML, SOAP, HTML, OLE, COM and all the other acronyms of the moment. Our application touches mail clients, performs real-time rule based searches
- you get the picture.
No, we are not expecting you to be a Lisp programmer immediately. If you have some familiarity with Lisp, fantastic. However, you must have a Bachelors or Masters in serious computer science with a penchant for mathematics; you want to beat down challenges in knowledge engineering; you understand and are willing to embrace OOD/OOP; and you are an implementer.

Additional Details:
We are a small company, you will work with subject matter experts, government experts, and a founder-programmer with significant experience in design. We have built our company with new graduates and we are not about to stop now.
Required Technical Skills:
Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or related discipline
Object Oriented Programming a must
Database concepts required, SQL a plus
Must be a US Citizen
Mathematics minor a serious plus
Courses in data-mining, neural networks, a plus
Experience with .net earns a few measly points
Non Technical Skills
Good written & verbal communications
Ability to produce quality work on time
Ability to work well as a team
