There are pre-defined constants corresponding to usually non-typable
keys on the keyboard (see key-names
). When a Lisp function calls
for a virtual key argument, one of the pre-defined constants is
suitable as an argument value. The word after the hyphen names the
key, in this case the meta key.
On most platforms there is no "extra" shift key for this variable to
represent, and its value is the same as vk-alt
. On the
Apple Mac, vk-meta
is
used for the Command/Apple key and vk-alt
is used for the Option/Alt key.
