Allegro CL 6.2 runs on Red Hat 8.0 and 9

Red Hat 8.0 was released after Allegro CL 6.2,
and our tests confirm that Allegro CL 6.2 works fine on this version of
Red Hat Linux.
A patch
is needed for Red Hat 9.

The profiler now works on all 64-bit versions of Allegro CL

Various patches have been made for this. We recommend
downloading and installing all patches with
sys:update-allegro.

Allegro Common Lisp does work on Solaris 2.9 (aka SunOS 5.9)

Contrary to what the installation guide says, the 32-bit and
64-bit Solaris versions of Allegro CL do work on Solaris 2.9.
This operating system was released just before Allegro CL 6.2 was
finalized, but we did have time to test it and it appears to work fine.

[Windows only] Using XEmacs 21.1.13 under Cygwin

To use the supplied XEmacs binary distribution for 21.1.13,
which can be found on CD-ROM disc2 in the
emacs/windows-binaries/xemacs/ directory,
you must install the following optional cygwin
(see
http://www.cygwin.com) packages,
all in the Graphics category:
- xpm-nox
- jpeg
- libpng2
- tiff
Without their installation, you will get an error indicating a missing DLL.
