1. Free Webinar: The Object Editor Dialog, and Class-Grid Widget in
Common Graphics

Thursday, June 10th, 10:00 AM Pacific Time

Common Graphics includes two types of interface objects that make it
easy to browse and edit instances of classes. The instances are
typically stored in databases, but they do not need to be. One of
these interface objects is the class-grid widget. This is a
specialized grid-widget that has a column for each application slot of
interest and a row for each instance that you tell it to display. The
other interface object is the object-editor dialog. It has a
standalone widget for each edited slot of a single currently-displayed
instance, as well as a number of standard command buttons for
displaying different instances and saving edits to them, and so on. In
this talk we will give examples that demonstrate both of these, with
the greater emphasis on the object editor.

2. New version of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) interface

Allegro CL provides an interface to the API for the Amazon Elastic
Compute Cloud (EC2). A new version has been released to support
regions. Because each region has its own identity, the single identity
model in the previous EC2 implementation has been revised. This change
has caused several non-backward compatible changes. Therefore, if you
have existing EC2 code, it will likely have to be modified.

3. International Lisp Conference 2010, mid October in Reno, Nevada

The ALU is pleased to announce that the International Lisp Conference
2010 (ILC-2010) will be held mid October in Reno, Nevada.

ILC-2010 will be colocated with OOPSLA/SPLASH. http://splashcon.org/

Colocated conferences allow people to explore other sessions; but the
ILC itself will be the same independent, lisp-intensive event you've
grown to love. More announcements, including the ILC conference
website and call for papers, will appear in the coming weeks.

4. Dr. Dobbs interview with Jans Aasman, "Catching Up with Lisp"

Dr. Dobbs recently published an interview with Franz CEO Jans Aasman
in the High Performance Section of their publication.
