1. Image Manipulation from Allegro CL using ImageMagick

ImageMagick is a suite of tools allowing you to create, edit, and
compose bitmap images. It provides powerful command-line tools to this
effect, but also provides a number of APIs to make the same features
available programmatically. Using SWIG, we have generated the foreign
wrappers to the MagickWand API. This article gives a demo and provides
further information including download information.

2. Allegro CL and Windows Vista/7

A recent patch has simplified some aspects of running Allegro CL on
Windows Vista and will also apply to Windows 7. The patch makes the
behavior of Vista clearer when running without administrator
privileges and fixes problems that prevented it from working at all on
Windows 7 (it has been tested on RC 7, which is the latest available).

3. Hubble gets last hug: 'Good voyage!'

After five amazing days, spacewalking astronauts finished repair work
on the Hubble Space Telescope on Monday and shut the doors to the
treasured observatory, which will never be touched by human hands
again. NASA said the revived telescope will be better than ever thanks
to the astronauts' efforts, and should provide even more dazzling
views of the universe for another five to 10 years. Read the full

SPIKE is the planning and scheduling software used in support of the
Hubble Space Telescope. SPIKE is written in Allegro CL and has been
made available as a general toolkit for planning and scheduling under
Contract NAS5-26555 with the National Aeronautics and Space
Administration.
