Mark Nitzberg

Mark Nitzberg runs a venture development firm called Twine, LLC. Twine has invested in Offroad Capital Corporation, CitySoft, Inc., Actioneer, Inc., LingoMotors, Inc., Smartleaf, Inc., SchoolSuccess.net Inc., and Open Ratings, as well as several noteworthy early-stage false starts. Mark serves as director and in operational roles at several companies. Prior to starting Twine, Mark was a vice president at Viaweb, which was acquired by Yahoo! in June 1998. In Germany, he co-founded Impact GmbH, a company that sells hospital management software. Earlier, during a 15-year period, he consulted to the software industry for such clients as Microsoft, Bull, Interleaf, Corbis and Camex. He is co-author of Filtering, Segmentation, and Depth (Springer, 1993), which describes his research in machine vision. Mark has patents issued and pending on several inventions. He received a bachelor of arts in mathematics from the University of Oregon, and a doctorate in computer science from Harvard.
