1. Free Web Seminar: SPARQL Queries on a Web 3.0 Database

Thursday, June 7, 10:00 - 11:30 am Pacific.

SPARQL is the W3C recommended query language for RDF. In our seminar
we demonstrate how to load RDF and OWL knowledge bases into
AllegroGraph and how queries are executed over the data with our
optimized SPARQL engine. We'll also demonstrate geospatial, Prolog,
and social network analysis queries on the same database. We will show
how to interface with AllegroGraph through its Java API, and use
TopBraid Composer as our ontology building tool and graphical
interface to the triple store.

2. Allegro CL 8.1 Beta released

The most visible new features are in Common Graphics (see New Common
Graphics Chart Widget in 8.1 below). Most changes to the Lisp are in
efficiency (opening files is about twice as fast, for example).

If you are interested in qualifying as a Beta tester for Allegro CL
8.1, please send email indicating your 32-bit or 64-bit platform(s) to
info@franz.com.

3. New Common Graphics Chart Widget in 8.1

The new Chart Widget, available in Allegro CL 8.1 (which is in beta
release) allows drawing bar and line charts of data with many options
for labeling, coloring, etc. See here for a discussion with
illustrations.

4. Support for TCP MD5 Signature Option on Linux

The new function set-tcp-md5-sig provides an interface to the
TCP_MD5SIG (RFC2385) socket option. It sets the key to be used for TCP
connections from an address. make-socket has been modified to accept
new keyword arguments tcp-md5-sig-key and tcp-md5-sig-key-ef. This new
feature is available on Linux platforms only. An update for Allegro
8.0 with these additions was released in May, 2007.
