Subject: Franz Tech Corner News: Allegro CL support in SWIG

Greetings Lispers,

Franz has added a module to the open-source SWIG tool (Simplified
Wrapper and Interface Generator, see www.swig.org) to support
generation of C library interface suitable for Allegro Common
Lisp. SWIG has been used to automatically generate such interfaces for
other languages such as Python, Perl and Java. We have already used
this new SWIG module to create an OpenGL interface within ACL (more on
that soon). Currently, it works for C but not C++ libraries (for
which Franz provides a cbind interface generation tool). Initial
responses include comments like "This is potentially very handy" and
"This is awesome news". You can find more details of this new SWIG
tool on Franz Tech Corner,
