Priceline is a discounted travel service that allows consumers to name their own price for hotels airfare, vacation packages, rental cars etc.

Companies such as airlines, hotel chains, rental car companies allow certain items, hotel rooms, airline tickets etc. to be obtained at a greatly discounted price through priceline at certain times of the year. There is NO guarantee of acceptance, however there is a high probability that any reasonable offer will be accepted.

To reserve accommodation at the Marriott Hotel in Oakland at a discounted rate, please log on to www.priceline.com and complete the required information as follows:

• Click on "hotels."
• Complete the city information (Oakland, CA) and trip details portion (date of stay) to your specifications.
• At the area selection page, click on "Oakland" and then "next."
• Select 3-star hotel.
• In the "name your price section," start by offering $65.00.
• Enter your name or the name of the person you are booking for, click "next."
• You will be told that $65.00 has only a slight chance of being accepted - ignore this.
• Type in $65.00 once again and click "next."
• Review your request - ensure that all information is correct.
• Ensure that your total charges at the bottom of the page are correct.
• Scroll down - READ THE RULES AND REGULATIONS.
• If you agree, type your initials into the box.
• Click "next."
• Complete your credit card information - AGAIN, BE ABSOLUTELY SURE THAT YOU WISH TO MAKE THIS PURCHASE!! YOUR CARD WILL BE CHARGED IMMEDIATELY!!
• Within 10 minutes you will receive a reply stating whether you have been successful
• If the offer is accepted, print out the details page which contains your confirmation and charges
• If the offer is NOT accepted, proceed as follows:
• You will be asked to make another offer and change the area of your stay.
• You cannot just increase the offer.
• At the area selection page click on "Emeryville" and increase your offer as you see fit, eg $67.00.
• Click "next."
• If once again you are unsuccessful, then once again at the area selection page click "Hayward" and increase your offer.
• If once again you are unsuccessful, at the area selection page click "Livermore" and increase your offer.
• If at this point your offer is NOT accepted, do NOT click on any other areas. It is quite possible that the Marriott does not have an agreement with Priceline at this time and that a room at discount price is not available.
• It is possible to try your request after 72 hours. If you try sooner the system will recognize your request and card information and you will not be allowed to proceed further.
